It’s Official… GDC *bites nails*

Step 5 of 5: Registration Confirmation
You are now registered for Game Developers Conference 2008 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, CA on February 18-22, 2008.

I’ll be attending the entire conference, experiencing everything it has to offer. I figured, heck, why not? Well, I couldn’t find any excuse not to, so here I come! :)

For Monday and Tuesday I thought it would be really fun/interesting to attend the Independent Games Summit. Lots of good stuff to experience. The developers of Aquaria will be speaking! *drools* I’m actually using their project for inspiration for a new, unannounced, project that I’ll be starting for an independent study project next semester.

Edit: Note to self… Fix top banner under EGA – 2001 – 2005, when I get home… Looks like I had Iraq on the mind when I put 2003. ;\

    Huzzah.
GDC is definitely a good deal. I’ve not actually been lucky enough to go to one yet, but I should be there this year.
In any case, going to any and every game development conference you can proves to be amazingly helpful if you know how to network right (and you red Darius’s blog it seems, so looks like you might.)
Each time you go to someplace you can network, it’s exponentially better, because you will see those people again, and again, and your network will not only expand but deepen as well.

Ah, yes… The good ol` Networking.

Yeah, I’m just praying to god I do not blow my opportunity and walk away with nothing… (Queue: *Bites Nails*) I have 5 days, of which I’ll be in San Francisco for probably 8 or 9 days. Pretty sure I’ll be good to go.

I think my first goal might be to find a lone wolf, like myself, so we both can walk around like goof balls. :P

    Ha-ha. :)

Congrats, Dave. You won’t regret it… unless you forget to bring business cards. Then, you will.

Just thought I’d stop over to say thanks for all the comments, too. much appreciated.

Thanks for visiting, Brenda, and thanks for writing some excellent thoughts on your own blog. Very insightful.

I will definitely not be forgetting business cards. I would probably go into crisis mode and actually create cards on the spot! Napkin, Cardboard, Paper Bags… I’d find a way. ;p

I wouldn’t want to disappoint Darius, either. Considering I’ve read over his networking notes quite a few times now, and remember looking at his sweet business card a long time ago.

Wish I could go, dude. My wife is pregnant and due right about a week after GDC, so no conference fun for me this year. I’ll be watching the blogs though and seeing the fun from that angle. :) Have fun, man!
